Hello
My name is Gabriella and I am currently in Los Angeles
I am a freelance photojournalist, cinematographer, and graduate student with over four years of experience in film production and photojournalism. My work has been featured in New York Magazine, PBS News Hour, Al Jazeera, CBS 60 Minutes, Nylon, and more.

About Me.
My experience in photojournalism and film production has helped me hone my passion for humanist visual storytelling. Over the past four years, I’ve worked on various film productions transitioning from an unpaid Production Assistant to taking on numerous roles, such as Cinematographer, Second Assistant Camera, Gaffer, Key Grip, Production Designer, and more. My experience in everything from music videos to feature-length films has helped grow my technical skills while allowing me to flourish in a deeply collaborative environment.
At Columbia University, I expanded on my interest in the theory and history of film and media while participating in multiple film clubs and shooting short films. I graduated Summa Cum Laude and was elected into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. My studies were focused on film and media from all over the world and different decades, from Hong Kong martial arts films of the 1980s to VR and AI in New Media Art.
While at Columbia, I became the University News Deputy Photo Editor at the Columbia Daily Spectator. I undertook challenging and high-stakes photo assignments, created photo essays, and primarily supervised the delegation, organization, and decision-making procedures related to the curation of photographs for publication. My leadership was instrumental in promoting equitable and meaningful coverage at a time when student protests garnered international attention. My work with the Spectator has contributed to New York Magazine, an investigative Al Jazeera documentary, and other International news outlets. I have covered multiple World Leader Forums with various heads of state and their contemporaneous contentious dialogues.
I am currently enrolled in UCLA's Graduate Program in Cinematography at the Theater, Film, and Television School to further expand my cinematographic storytelling capabilities and technical skills. My humanist media approach to photography and film constantly pushes me to continually refine my craft in hopes of improving my ability to capture the emotions of people and events in today's world. When I'm not behind the lens, you'll likely find me playing video games on my PC, finding a new place to hike, or baking cookies!
